Get your partner turned on quickly (with minimal effort!) by watching, reading, playing, or listening to a spot of erotic media. Games, books and videos this way…

Erotic Media To Get You Both In The Mood

Viewing, reading or listening to erotic media together is a great way to help get your partner in the mood. The aim of this article is to give you some good pointers in the right direction of all of the useful sources of erotic media out there that you might both enjoy. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and it is absolutely geared towards something that the both of you will enjoy, rather than just being a blatant list of pornographic material for blokes. It is split into the following topics…

  • Stories – split into; ‘Audiobooks’, ‘Traditional and digital books’ and ‘Online’
  • Audio visual – split into; ‘Films with erotic content’, ‘Pornography for you both’ and ‘Online’
  • Games – split into ‘board games’, ‘card games’ and ‘digital games’
  • Music

Stories

The stories section has been divided into four…

  • Audiobooks – to download to your computer or mobile device, and for you both to listen to.
  • Traditional and digital books – general book recommendations; available both in traditional and digital formats. With digital content being downloadable from companies such as Amazon, for the Kindle device, and iTunes for ‘i’ devices.
  • Online – stories readable on the web only.

When choosing a book, be it audio, traditional or digital, my advice would be to go for one with short stories for your first read. That way you can (a) quickly see whether or not you and your partner will get on with reading or listening to stories together, (b) you can see if it’s something that is going to work for your partner at all and (c) the story will be over relatively quickly and succinctly and won’t take all night to read, ie so that you can get some of what you want quicker.

Audiobooks

Erotic audiobooks are a great thing to listen to together, you can both just snuggle in and listen to someone else doing the hard work. Plus your hands are free to can concentrate on getting all touchy feely with your partner!…

  • Try audible.com or audible.co.uk – these sites have hundreds of erotic audiobooks, almost too many in fact. On entering the site choose the ‘Erotica’ category. You can then narrow the selection down by using the ‘Length’, ‘Customer rating’ and the ‘Top selling’ categories. This site isn’t cheap, but the technology side of things is relatively easy to work out, and if you choose their monthly subscription model then you can significantly bring down the price you pay.
  • lustylibrary.com has a large selection of free stories to read on the web, all categorised, and at the top of each page there’s a ‘show audio stories only’ button which you can click so that the results only show the audio versions. Audio files are downloadable in mp3 file format.
  • ravenousromance.com has an audiobooks category.
  • audiominx.com is pretty much all audiobooks. It’s a site created by women with women in mind, so there should be something on this site for both of you.
  • podiobooks.com – browse the titles by the ‘Erotica’ category – there aren’t a huge amount of titles on this site – but what there is is free – so it might well be a great place for you both to start.

Traditional and digital books

This section covers digital and traditional books…

  • Traditional – that’s right, traditional books – do you remember them? They were those paper things that you used to be able to pick up at those stores on the high street. Perfect for those who really don’t get on with technology or for when you just want to be able to pick something up together that you don’t have to ‘switch on’ first. Where to purchase…
    • Online retailers – sites such as Amazon, or Barnes and Noble are the obvious ones, both of which have an ‘erotica’ category. At the time of publishing Barnes and Noble probably has a better way of reducing your search down to the type of story that you are after, they have, for example, an ‘Erotica for couples’ category that you can sort in a variety of ways, including by price.
    • Traditional bookstores – if you are all good with wandering into a bookstore and thumbing through the options in the erotic content section, then this is, of course, still on option!
    • Digital – the options for digital books can be somewhat confusing, and what I’m not keen to get into is a guide to the variety of digital devices that are out there, this is, after all, a course to get you more sex, so I’ll leave the digital book reader reviews to others. The following may help though…
    • First off its worth knowing that quite a few of the traditional, paper based, books are also available for download.
    • Amazons ‘Kindle’ – a device that is available from the various Amazon online stores, which has a wide variety of titles. It’s website is perhaps that little bit trickier to navigate and search through to get to the sort of content that you like, but starting with an ‘erotic stories for couples’ search should get you going in the right direction.
    • iTunes – for reading on the variety of ‘i’ devices. Somewhat tricky to navigate your way to the erotic content. If iBooks is your thing then it’s probably better to use Amazon or Barnes and Nobles websites to find the content you are after and then to do a title search to see if the book you want to read is available on the iBooks format.
    • Barnes and Nobles ‘Nook’ – the ‘NOOK Books’ section of the Barnes and Noble site is great. You can quickly and easily filter to the ‘Erotica’ category, from which you can sort the 10’s of thousands of returns in a variety of ways, ‘Best Selling’ being a recommended way. But you can also filter by sub-category, including ‘Erotica for Couples’ and ‘Erotica Short Stories’ sub-categories.

Below are suggestions for some great books that you should both enjoy that will get you started on your journey into literary erotica…

Online

It’s probably worth starting with an explanation of what I mean by ‘Online’, because surely iBooks, the Nook content and all of the Kindle content are online too? Indeed they are, so then, this section is all about the other content available out there in the online world. And this section concentrates on the free content…

  • literotica.com – scroll down to the “Site Index” section on the home page, then to “Stories & Pics”, then scroll down to “Erotic Stories”. There are loads on this site, all categorised.
  • As mentioned above in the audiobooks topic – lustylibrary.com has a large selection of free stories to read on the web.
  • lushstories.com – an amazing site, all free, and there are loads of categories to choose from.
  • fantasies.com – also has loads of stories, and again all categorised.
  • And if you’ve read all of these and you still want more try doing a search on Google for “erotic stories”, there are literally hundreds of sites out there. Some are better than others though!

Audio Visual

This section covers; traditional films which also happen to have erotic content, pornography that you should both be able to enjoy and also the online offerings.

Films with erotic content
When I say ‘films’ I mean traditional ones, ie those feature length things that you go to the cinema to see. These film suggestions are ones that you could easily suggest to your partner that you both watch as part of a date night, but they also have the extra added bonus for you of having erotic content, and could therefore help the process of getting your partner into the right place for later on in the date.

Belle De Jour
A sixties classic in which Catherine Deneuve plays a respectable married woman who decides to moonlight as a prostitute. As you’d imagine for a film about someone moonlighting as a prostitute – there is some erotic content in here that could well push your partner’s buttons.

Betty Blue
The haunting music, the sulky French narration and most important, the gorgeous, gap-toothed, pouting Beatrice Dalle. Watch out for the steamy scenes of oral sex in the first few minutes.

Captives
Julia Ormond and Tim Roth. He’s a prisoner, she’s the prison dentist. They meet and go mad in a toilet cubicle. It’s not hugely erotic, but one scene in particular could well do it for you and your partner.

Desert Hearts
Uptight New York academic Helen Shaver goes to Reno to get divorced, and ends up meeting a young, free and beautiful lesbian. She tries to fight her feelings, but the strange new impulses just prove too much. Not a massive amount of erotic content in there, but there should be just enough.

Don’t Look Now
Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland in the 1973 made ‘Don’t Look Now’. A married couple grieving the recent death of their little daughter are in Venice when they encounter two elderly sisters, one of whom is psychic and brings a warning from beyond. Contains one of the most beautiful love scenes known to film, which is unlikely to disappoint.

Sea of Love
A detective, Al Pacino, investigating a series of murders becomes involved with a woman, Ellen Barkin, who may be the culprit. A good number of erotic scenes, with one in particular to watch out for – where an innocent trip to the all-night supermarket for a few vegetables leads to a sex session which gives frisking a whole new meaning…

Tampopo
Forget the fridge scenes in 9 Weeks, this Japanese offering shows exactly how to enhance your love life with lemons and cream. This film may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s certainly different!

The Big Easy
A romantic thriller set in New Orleans. Remy McSwain (Dennis Quaid), a lieutenant in homicide finds that he has two problems, the first – a series of gang killings and second – Ann Osborne, played by Ellen Barkin, a beautiful attorney from the D.A.’s police corruption task force in his office. He begins a relationship with her as the killings continue only to have charges filed against him for accepting bribes as he stumbles on a police corruption sting. This film has one of the steamiest clothed sex scenes ever, some seriously good chemistry going on.

The Lover
A younger girl embarks on a reckless and forbidden romance with a wealthy, older man, each knowing that knowledge of their affair will bring drastic consequences to each other. This is a seriously erotic classic, it’s not cheap to buy, if indeed you can find it in a format which will work in your home country, but it’s worth it. If your partner has heard of this film before though, then you might well struggle to subtly suggest that it’s an innocent choice that you’ve happened to purchase.

The Piano
A mute woman along with her young daughter, and her prized piano, are sent to 1850s New Zealand for an arranged marriage to a wealthy landowner, and she’s soon lusted after by a local worker on the plantation. Holly Hunter, corseted up to the eyeballs, manages to find a hole in her tights for Harvey Keitel to get in.

This film may not be for everyone and, depending on the version you get to watch, there’s a not overly pleasant scene of one of the characters having their finger chopped off! But there are some very saucy goings on – just ensure that you get to watch the un-edited version, otherwise you may find all of the good stuff edited out.

The Postman Always Rings Twice
In the 1981 version of The Postman Always Rings Twice the sensuous wife, Jessica Lange, of a lunch wagon proprietor and a rootless drifter, Jack Nicholson, begin a sordidly steamy affair and conspire to murder her Greek husband. This film may well help you to realise that kitchens aren’t just for cooking in.

Pornography for you both

Now then, I’m sure that you don’t need me to tell you that the majority of porn is made for blokes, and that watching this sort of porn on your TV or computer with your partner may well not be something that your partner will want to do with you, or indeed that you should even suggest that you do together. But what you may like to know is that there are producers out there who have made films that are especially for women (no, not the two lesbians getting it on kind), which aren’t anywhere near as bad as the ones that would appeal to most blokes, and that these will also turn your partner on. Have a look at these two sites and see whether or not you think that this sort of content might also appeal to your partner too. Neither of these two options are overly cheap though…

  • Candida Royale – candidaroyalle.com – Femme Productions – this is porn made by women and is aimed at both partners.
  • comstockfilms.com – similar to Candida Royale’s content – this site contains a lesser number of videos, but they are all at aimed at couples, and will doubtless be very effective at getting your partner into the right place.

Online
The only site out there that is tastefully done is x-art.com – and not all of the videos on this site are going to be for you both, but the ones of couples are beautifully shot and the couples actually seem to be enjoying themselves!

Games

Board games
The following games can be played with your partner as a way to warm her up and get her in the mood for sex. These games aren’t for everyone, and it’s quite possible that your partner will absolutely hate them, so it’s maybe worth checking them out with her first online before you part with your cash. The following have been tried and tested…

  • “Monogamy: A Hot Affair… with your partner” – this a great game to play after dinner or for that rainy day. It will help to slowly get her in the mood for some loving action with you. It’s got over 400 ideas at three levels of play and you can take it as fast or as slow as you’d like. There’s even a special “treat feature” to keep the passion going after the game has stopped.
  • “Nookii” – Another game to warm you both up slowly but surely… it’s got three levels, which you can work through and comes with a dice and a timer so that you complete your assigned action within a time limit.
  • “More Play Sex Game” – an easy to play game packed with loads of ideas. There are four categories; Penetration and Passion, Oral Pleasures, Kinky Fun and Touching Times. You’ll never know quite what you’re going to get next with this one, it’s just a great game for slowly building the tension and the passion.
  • “Lust” – an erotic board game – again, another game that has different levels. This is a great one for reminiscing about your previous exploits as a way to get you both in the mood. And when you get there there’s a different possibility to conclude the game each time you play it.

Card games
There are absolutely loads of possible saucy card games out there for you both to play, here are few of the better suggestions…

  • “Cosmo’s steamy sex games” – twelve games, with 118 erotic cards, with titles such as; The Sexy Scavenger hunt, Dirty Truth or Dare, Finish the Fantasy, Titillating Trivia and Call of the Wild.
  • “Truth or Dare – A Game of Passion” – possibly a little tame for the more adventurous of couples this game is brilliant if you are a little more shy about discussing sex and relationship topics with your partner. It’s a great way to more easily open up discussions about fantasy, what you enjoy about sex and what you love about your partner.
  • “69 Kama Sutra Heart Challenges” – use tweezers (!) to pick scrolls from a heart shaped box. A fun challenge for when you are ready to add that extra spark to your relationship.

Digital games
The following suggestions are all available in the iTunes app store for both iPad and iPhone…

  • “Adult wheel of foreplay” – free and paid versions for both iPad and iPhone. It’s not totally geared up for couples, but its free and it could be really great fun once or twice.
  • “Love dice: sexy fun for couples” – for iPhone only – a very low price. A great way to reconnect, and it has different levels.
  • “Sexy spin game Lite” – free – but for iPhone only. The clues in the title – take turns spinning the wheels to get different combinations of sexy actions and body parts, then a timer times you enacting what’s been spun for you.
  • “Sex life 100 + Positions” – for iPhone and iPad – the free version doesn’t have a huge number of positions, but none the less what it does come with is a great start, and this would be a really great way to keep track of the positions that you’d tried with your partner.
  • “Adult sex game HD” – for iPhone and iPad, and a nice low price. This game has loads of possible combinations.

Music

Now this is a difficult one. Why? Because tastes are so varied, that’s why. To my mind though what you want when you are trying to seduce your partner into bed is an albums worth of music, so that you don’t have to keep jumping up and down to the CD or MP3 player to change the tracks. The playlists function available to you in iTunes is of course a great way to build up a bank of tunes which you know that you will both enjoy, and that also has the added benefit of you being able to make them more seductive as the list goes on.

Some great albums…

  • Anything by “Barry White” – the master of seductive music.
  • “Enya” – start with the “Very Best of Enya”.
  • “Kenny Rankin” – if this is your thing then this stuff can work wonders, but its definitely not for everyone.
  • “Norah Jones” – Come Away With Me – this is absolutely perfect.
  • Any of the “Ministry of Sound” “Chillout” albums
  • “Seduction” – “Instrumental Love Songs”
  • theromantic.com has a huge list of romantic albums.

And some great individual tracks…

  • “Marvin Gaye” – “Sexual Healing”
  • Beethoven’s 5th
  • Mozart’s Clarinet Concerto
  • “Barry White” – “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything”
  • “James Blunt” – “You’re Beautiful”
  • “The Beatles” – “I Want To Hold Your Hand”
  • “Whitney Houston” – “I Will Always Love You”
  • “Eric Clapton” – “Wonderful Tonight”
  • “Frank Sinatra” – “The Way You Look Tonight”
  • “Beyonce” – “Crazy in Love”
  • “Coldplay” – “Fix You”
  • “Righteous Brothers” – “Unchained Melody”

And if none of that helps and you need further inspiration then go for music that doesn’t have words as this will help your partners brain to switch off from the outside world.
